While the TASER® C2 wins the title of the worlds wimpiest stun gun voltage wise, it's possibly THE most devastating non-lethal self defense product on the market.

Made by TASER® International, they are just 50,000 volt stun guns. In contrast, the Talon Mini at 80,000 volts is currently one of the weakest stun guns on the market. While there are stun guns that exceed two million volts, it's what TASER® does with that voltage, that can drop a bull.

The C2 TASER® also works up to 15 feet away, giving you plenty of space between you and an attacker. Few, if any non-lethal self defense products go past this distance. Shaped like a flat, bent flash light, the C2 is about 5 inches long, 2 inches high, and 1 inch thick. It's easy to hide in a pocket or a purse, and can be worn in a belt holster.

It uses a nitrogen propelled, disposable cartridge that shoots two metal projectiles up to 15 feet at a potential attacker. The projectiles have barbed ends so they can hook into clothing or skin, and they are attached to a copper wire that shoots the voltage up the wires into the attacker. They are effective up to two inches of clothing.

We hire a guy to take a shot for the camera, and while we did not get the video, one of the barbs sunk so deep in the center of his chest, it would not come out. We hit cartilage, and we could not yank it out. He had to go to an emergency room to have it removed. Luckily he signed a release, after the fact!

What makes any model TASER® so devastating is that they fluctuate the voltage. Normally up to 5 seconds with other models, with the C2, up to 54 times over a 30 second cycle. So it's like blasting the punk 54 times with a stun gun, with only one push of a button.

They use something called "Shaped Pulse Technology," which pulses the electricity while it's flowing down the wires. You are not just putting electricity into the attackers body, you are pulsing it, which causes involuntary muscle contractions in the attacker. It affects the attacker's sensory and motor functions of their nervous system.

What the hell does that mean? It means that they ain't getting up for 10-20 minutes. The punk will completely loose control of his ability to move his arms and legs, and will just lay there, helpless.

You can't just order the C2 and start shooting; it has to be activated after a quick online background check, no matter where you buy it. TASER® won't let you activate the device if you are a felon, so if you are not, you should pass.

They you get a code that you enter using the trigger to activate the unit. It's a 4-digit code that you push the trigger button however many times the number is. For example, a code of 1234 would require you to push the trigger once, pause, then push twice, pause, push three times, pause, then press 4 times. If entered correctly, the unit will let you know it's unlocked & ready for use.

It comes with a long life lithium battery already installed, and two cartridges, one in the unit. They are easy to replace by pushing the side buttons to release the cartridge. Just don't put your hand over the front of the cartridges, as it could go off, and shoot right in your hand, inflicting serious damage. Grab them from the sides.

What we love about any TASER® is that if you still need to use it after shooting the projectiles, and you are out of cartridges, it turns into a TASER® stun gun. Just press the end of the device against the punk, and pull or push the trigger. The voltage will flow through two metal contact points located on the edge of any of their cartridges.

When you feel threatened, or in danger, pull out your C2 and point it at the punk. Loudly, and as mean as you can sound, let them know you have a TASER® and you will used it to take them down! Scream it out loud to use your words to also verbally defend yourself.

Quickly slide back the trigger's protective cover with your thumb to turn it on. Right away, the flashlight and bright red LED of the C2 will turn on, which will also help to put the visual fear into the mix. After warning them, and putting the red laser center mass, the middle of their chest, push the button with your thumb when you feel it's you or them.

BANG! The nitrogen will explode with a sound almost as loud as a small pistol. More sound used to scare the attacker. If you hit the punk, they will go down. Unless you press the trigger again, it will continue to shoot electricity for 30 seconds. Drop the device and run to your car, other people, or the local police.

That's our overview of the TASER® C2. They are one of the most effective non-lethal self defense products on the market today that can be used at the longest distances. Not many things besides a gun will protect you as well.
